I'll never forget Mage walking in with this smile and that air about her. It was like seeing exactly what I wanted to see, but it actually being real! I'm the luckiest guy in the world.

Q1

When and how did the two of you meet, and what is most memorable about your first meeting?

Mage: We met through the app Bumble and met at a dive bar on the Upper West Side where Rick was waiting for me and had laid out all of these board games for us to play. I remember walking in and feeling something hit me like a ton of bricks when I saw him. I hadn’t ever felt that way before and I’ll remember it forever.

Rick: I’ll never forget Mage walking in with this smile that and air about her. It was like seeing exactly what I wanted to see, but it actually being real! I’m the luckiest guy in the world.

Q2

On your day, what was your first thought when you woke up in the morning?

Mage: How much I love Rick and how I didn’t want to spend even the few hours apart that day.

Rick: How am I going to fill my day until 6PM! I literally made spaghetti at around 10:30 am.

Q3

Which quality do you most admire about one another?

Mage: I admire Rick’s heart and the care he shows toward everyone he meets and how thoughtful he always is. He is always wanting to help and give to others.

Rick: I love Mage’s determination and ability to love deeper than I ever thought possible.

Q4

What was a highlight of your wedding day?

Mage: Seeing our families meld together effortlessly.

Rick: Tough question because there were so many! I loved taking in all the small moments when it was just the two of us. Being selfish, but they were extremely intimate. Also after our “first” kiss walking down the aisle :).

Q5

What aspects of your wedding most reflected your personality?

Mage: We wanted everyone to feel comfortable and warm and welcomed. We wanted the atmosphere to be one full of love and wanted it to feel easygoing.

Rick: The setting was perfect, it was so cool really getting to make it our own and work together. Everything from the beverages people received as they entered to the music. Actually I think the music mostly reflected our personality. We grew closer throughout the process and that was an unexpected bonus.

Q6

Did you plan the look of your wedding around a specific theme or color scheme? If so, please explain how this idea was carried out.

Mage:We were married in October and wanted to stay away from expected fall colors. We wanted it to feel warm and glowing and our planners and design team flawlessly combined all of these beautiful rich colored florals with unexpected brightness from candles and we were overwhelmed by it.

Rick: I defer to Mages fantastic taste, always.

I loved when she walked down the isle and we hadn't spoke really all day and it was just so exciting to see her and chat, even though not really the time ha.

Rick

Our cousin who married us accidentally said "with this Rick I thee wed" instead of "with this ring."

Q7

What wedding planning decision was the easiest one to make? What was the most difficult?

Mage: I didn’t want Rick to see me before I walked down the aisle, that was the one tradition I felt was very important for me to keep. I don’t think there were any really difficult decisions because our wedding planner and her team just made everything so easy for us.

Rick: Honestly, everything was so well organized and laid out for us the outline of the day was awesome. I would say seating was probably the most difficult, but not too bad.

Q8

Were there any funny moments that especially stand out?

Mage: Several moments in Rick’s best man’s speech and when our cousin who married us accidentally said “with this Rick I thee wed” instead of “with this ring”

Rick: I loved when she walked down the isle and we hadn’t spoke really all day and it was just so exciting to see her and chat, even though not really the time ha.

Q9

What do you hope your guests remember most about your wedding day?

Mage: How grateful we are to have such wonderful people who came to be with us that day and that love is a blissful state of being.

Rick: The love that everyone was putting out there. Even though it was October it was awesome to feel the warmth resonating from everyone wishing us the best life!

Q10

Where do you see yourselves in 30 years?

Mage: Still making each other laugh and traveling as often as possible. Maybe a few more dogs as well.

Rick: I can’t wait for all the memories we are going to have together. Forging a relationship that really stands the test of time. I don’t really care where we are in 30 years, as long as we are together.

Most of all we hope our guests will remember how grateful we are to have such wonderful people who came to be with us that day and that love is a blissful state of being.
