Patrick & Ross: We’ve always known we wanted to marry each other. We planned our proposal in advance, asking each other at our home in Provincetown after having dinner at our favorite local spot.

Describe any specific family or cultural traditions that were important to you during your wedding planning.
Patrick & Ross: It was Ross’s idea to have his sister and Patrick’s two sisters all officiate. They all wore long, white gowns and stood together like three muses.
Additionally, Patrick wrote the ceremony script, including readings by Plato and James Baldwin, and Ross made the rings himself at the Dartmouth College jewelry studio.

What was a highlight of your wedding day?
Patrick & Ross: Reading our self-written vows to each other was the highlight of the wedding day. We both put so much emotion into our words, and more than a few tears were shed by us and our guests.

What wedding planning decision was the easiest one to make? What was the most difficult?
Patrick & Ross: Picking the band was the easiest decision. They were very talented, energetic, and played a range of song choices. We wanted to make sure people danced all night. They beat our expectations–some folks ended up dancing on the monument!
