Samantha and Jordan were married on a fall day under platinum-colored skies. Though plenty of friends and family surrounded them on their day, their day felt like an intimate event. A tented ceremony at a private residence, a candlelit dinner and dancing into the night – plus all of the love and laughter – kept everything feeling warm and bright.

Q1

What was the first wedding planning decision you made?

Samantha: The location. We chose the Hamptons as it had very special meaning to us – it was the starting place of our relationship in the summer of 2013. I also had many wonderful childhood memories there with my family so it felt like the perfect spot.

Q2

Jordan, if you could relive one moment from your wedding day, what would it be?

Jordan: The First Look – seeing Sam for the first time that day and enjoying those first excited moments alone together.

Q3

What was your number one goal for your day?

For our guests to have fun and enjoy themselves – it was most important to us that it was a great and memorable weekend for our family and friends.

Q4

Samantha, if you could relive one moment from your wedding day, what would it be?

Samantha: Fête brought us into the dinner tent right before the end of cocktail hour so that we could see it alone before guests entered. The band started playing our first dance song and we danced to it just the two of us. I loved seeing how everything had come together – the tablescapes and the room filled with candlelight – and enjoying our own first dance alone before everyone entered.

Q5

Do you have advice for couples on their day?

Try to enjoy every moment as it goes by so quickly! Don’t stress about the small things and try to experience the day together almost as a guest would.

Q6

What was the easiest wedding planning decision you made?

Samantha: Choosing to work with Fête as our wedding planner. I loved Jung & their team from the moment I met them and felt that they immediately understood my vision as well as what was important to each of us and how to incorporate those elements creatively. I also knew we would enjoy working with them throughout the process.

Jordan: Choosing Creative Edge as our caterer for both the rehearsal dinner on Friday and the wedding on Saturday was an easy decision as well. They had a very different approach for each night – for example, lobster rolls & mini reubens on Friday to caviar cannoli & truffle pasta on Saturday – and found a way to include many of our favorites into the menus.

Q7

Where did you go or look for inspiration and ideas?

Other weddings Fête had planned, Vogue weddings, Pinterest, and Instagram.
