I couldn’t wait to see Alexis. I just wanted the day to get started so I could spend it with her.

Q1

When and how did the two of you meet, and what is most memorable about your first meeting?

ALEXIS: We were introduced by a mutual friend in 2013. Our first date was at a bar in the West Village. It was a chilly November night and we sat together for a few hours. I didn’t want the date to end. I thought to myself that this might be the guy I was going to marry.

Q2

On your day, what was your first thought when you woke up in the morning?

ALEXIS: I was so excited that the day was finally here!

GERSHON: I couldn’t wait to see Alexis. I just wanted the day to get started so I could spend it with her.

We wanted something that felt like classic New York.

Q3

What wedding planning decision was the easiest one to make? What was the most difficult?

ALEXIS: The easiest was the band and the food. Sound House was fantastic and kept us dancing all night. The food at the Four Seasons is excellent, so it was very easy to decide what we wanted to enjoy on our wedding day.
The most difficult was our wedding cake flavor. There were so many options and we wanted everyone to enjoy it. In the end, we decided on chocolate cake with layers of vanilla buttercream and chocolate ganache. It didn’t disappoint – thank you Nine Cakes!

Q4

What did you base your choice of location on?

ALEXIS: We both grew up, at one point or another, in Manhattan. We wanted something that felt like classic New York. The Four Seasons 57th Street is beautiful and modern, yet welcoming with really warm and inviting light.

The highlight of our wedding day was seeing Alexis walk down the aisle. I was so excited to be able to call her my wife, and it felt like such a big, exciting moment.

There may have been over 100 people in the room, but I only remember the two of us. It was very special.

Q5

What was a highlight of your wedding day?

ALEXIS: For me, it was the ceremony. There may have been over 100 people in the room, but I only remember the two of us. It was very special.

Q6

What is the most valuable thing that you have learned from each other?

ALEXIS: Patience! I’m still working on it though…

GERSHON: I’ve always been impressed with how mindful and focused Alexis is. She always remembers people’s birthdays, never forgets anything when we travel… she’s very detail-oriented and it continues to inspire me!

Q7

What song did you dance to for your first dance? Why?

ALEXIS: Il mio canto libero by Lucio Battisti. His voice and lyrics tugged at our heart strings..

Q8

What was on your wedding day wish list?

ALEXIS: We just wanted to have fun and enjoy every moment, with our family and friends.
